Expedited Answers for Common Queries: March 2026 Edition (Updated as needed)
My "Usual" Clients
I have the most experience working with men. It's a language I know, and it's a demographic that I know how to work with, and it's a culture that I can speak to with the fluency of a native.
This does not mean, nor should it be taken to mean, that I work exclusively with men. But I have to be very clear that if the interests and needs of the client fall outside my specialty and inside the specialties of colleagues I know, prospective clients may be better served by working with leading experts whose specialities, emphases, and focuses specific to presenting concerns or particular population groups may be more helpful in the clinical space.
The Big Three
What if I'm not Christian?
That's actually not a problem for most people. I believe in the power of story and myth. If you can approach it as a narrative device, I can pivot the language as much as I can to make what is said make sense to a non-believer.
What if I'm not male?
First, I would still invite you to contact me so we can at least have a talk about what's going on. I admit up front that there are going to be colleagues of mine that will have greater expertise and experience working with backgrounds and populations that supercede my own. If it becomes clear that the quality of care would be better if it was handled by one of them, you will have my full recommendation and personal connection to one of my most trusted colleagues to help with your mental health concerns. Being attentive to the quality of care available is a top priority.
